Millicent Binks is a writer, former costume designer, and burlesque performer whose work includes columns for the Evening Standard and features for The Sunday Times Magazine. Her latest novel, Murder at the Scottish Ball, follows amateur sleuth and milliner Opal Laplume during Christmas 1934 at a grand Scottish castle. Excited to attend Sir Seamus’ legendary Christmas Eve ball, Opal enjoys an evening of glamour, tartan kilts, and festive celebrations- until the host is suddenly electrocuted by faulty Christmas lights. With the festivities shattered, Opal must uncover the truth behind the shocking death.
