The History of Southwold Railway

A fascinating and light-hearted presentation by John Ridgway, a Trustee of the Southwold Railway Trust, including rare photographs from the early days of Southwold Railway.

The talk will explain why and where the railway was built and who used it up to its closure in 1929. Bringing us right up to date, John will talk about the work of the Trust and the purchase of its very own steam train, ‘Blyth’, explaining how water is converted to energy.
